A PlaceBot is a IBM® Lotus® Domino® agent,
written either in Java or LotusScript, that automates a task. Using a PlaceBot,
you can access, process, and manage the data in a place. For example, you
might use a PlaceBot to send e-mail to members of your place that notifies
them when a document of interest is edited. You can create a PlaceBot that
runs when a page of a certain type is published or on a scheduled basis. You
can also run a PlaceBot manually. Several activities associated with Placebots
are as follows:
- Creating the placebot
- Determining the affected pages
- Scheduling when a placebot should run
- Importing files for the placebot
- Enabling and disabling the scheduling as needed
